Prof. He ran the first glaucoma survey and largest twin registry in China. He has published more than 200 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, including JAMA, with citations of nearly 5000 times, and some important book chapters. He serves on the editorial board for several journals, including Ophthalmology, Clinical Experimental Ophthalmology, PLoS One, Molecular Vision, and APJO. He has received several awards including a distinguished young scholar award from the National Natural Science Foundation (2011), Holmes Lecture Award from the Asia-Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (2015), and RAINE fellowship from University Western Australia.

His research interests include clinical and epidemiological research, randomized clinical trial, twin study, and imaging technology. His current research is big data and precision medicine.
